Mary Melcer has been an executive leader in the mortgage, credit, banking and insurance businesses for more than 30 years. After many years in corporate finance, she founded a mortgage unit for a federally chartered bank and in less than a year, grew volume from startup to $300 million a month, and the bank’s stock price by 500% over 3 years. She later founded a non-profit debt management company, which became one of the top five in the nation within two years. There she managed a $40 million budget, and nearly $400 million in client funds per year. Mary also launched a political research platform, supporting national, state and local candidates as well as large non-profit organizations. Her other business pursuits include insurance, PEO, aviation electronics, retail golf products as well as commercial and residential real estate management.
Mary’s expertise is in strategic planning, financial management, sales management, call center management, insurance, and finance, with a strong sales component. Throughout her many years as a hands-on CEO and entrepreneur, she has been heavily involved in all aspects of business formation, contract negotiations, recruiting, training, process improvement, state and federal regulatory compliance, and leadership development.
Mary Melcer has served as Chairman of the Board for a number of philanthropic organizations and has volunteered thousands of hours serving charities in her community. She has also served on the board of her industry trade association.
Having hired thousands of employees at all levels, Mary is a strong advocate for creating an agile workplace culture through strategic selection of new team members and by creating dynamic training programs that capture their attention and build value for the organization. Her favorite times have been those spent with a struggling employee, helping them to overcome obstacles, finding the right resources to get back on track, and celebrating their turnaround. Mary’s approach to assisting small businesses is the same: working as a team, with the proper coaching, tools and resources, a small business leader can make the necessary adjustments to meet their goals and objectives. Mary’s love of the small business model means collaborating with her on your project will be an energetic, engaging, eye-opening and fun endeavor.
Mary Melcer graduated from the University of South Florida and lives in beautiful St. Petersburg, Florida with two dogs and an annoying cat.
