Rick is a hands-on, results oriented Business Leader with over 25 years of domestic and international experience driving operational excellence, growth and profitability in numerous industries including petrochemical, retail, education, consumer products and industrial products. His approach is driving accountability and results through sustainable change, leadership development and the utilization of appropriate business tools. Rick started his career as a consultant designing and implementing packaging systems for clients such as Shell, Chevron, and Firestone. His move into change management and operational consulting led him to his various leadership roles in the manufacturing industry. Rick’s career includes serving as the Director or VP of Operations in manufacturing products such as metal cookware, glassware, fragrances, plastic containers, candles, Igloo coolers, orbital welding equipment, hydraulic cylinders, brake friction products and Leer camper tops. He has conducted over 10 successful Operational Turnarounds by applying his strategic and tactical expertise in areas of Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality, Contract Manufacturing, Change Management and Team Development.
Rick’s passion for seeing people succeed has been the driving force for improving the businesses and lives of his clients. His personal and leadership philosophy are Integrity, Mission before Self, and Excellence in All Things, which were ingrained in him during his time at the United States Air Force Academy. Due to family health reasons, he was not able to complete his training at the Academy but his time there was extremely influential in laying the foundation that drives his passion for helping others and driving results.
Rick has both a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston. He believes in paying it forward and serves as a mentor for MBA students at the University of Houston. Rick is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. He enjoys photography, reading, watching sports, playing his guitars, cooking and spending time with his wife, daughters and their families.
