Karl Horn started a restaurant in 2012. Over the next ten years, he grew it into four locations. During this time, he oversaw all the firm’s functions. Starting from scratch, he developed products to sell, operational methods to standardize production, HR policies to create a common culture, corporations to protect assets, strategy to maximize growth, marketing to increase sales, negotiated with suppliers to contain costs, managed the income statement to ensure goals were met, and created a training program to grow people into managers. He understands small business because he owned and managed one.
His additional experience comes from consulting and other industries. He worked as an analyst for a boutique consulting firm and focused on automating the entire analytics department. He worked in multi-billion-dollar health systems helping to reorganize their entire approach to patient care and processes. Karl also has experience working in the steel industry, logistics and transportation, warehousing, frozen storage, and food manufacturing.
Karl has been awarded a Master of Business Administration with a focus on Supply Chain and Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Marketing. He also has his Six Sigma green belt.
Karl enjoys billiards, chess, Formula 1 racing, golf, and video games. He is also an avid traveler, having visited most of the 50 states and 11 countries. He currently resides in Pittsburgh, PA.
