Monte is best described as a people-first leader. He has over 20 year’s experience in both large and small companies where he has served as President, Chief Operations Officer and Chief Marketing Officer. Monte has an extensive track record of improving company performance through both driving revenue growth and improving operational efficiency. Monte’s approach is to gain an understanding of the business and then collaborate with the key players to find a solution. He knows firsthand what is involved with being a small business owner as he owned and operated his own fast-casual restaurant in the Atlanta area.
Most recently, Monte was President of a Burger King franchise that operated over 43 locations. He was able to raise profits by driving both operational efficiencies and top line growth.
Monte has also worked in operations as the Director of guest experience for the 414 unit Crowne Plaza Hotels where he developed the first global food and beverage program. In addition, he served as Chief Marketing Officer for the Schlotzsky’s 250 US locations. Prior to Schlotzsky’s, Monte was chief Operations Officer as well as Chief Marketing Officer at Backyard Burgers. In that role, he was instrumental in bringing the company out of bankruptcy and turning it into a highly functioning and profitable business.
Monte was Vice-President of Marketing at Golden Corral. He was responsible for driving record sales and profits across their 500 locations nationwide. Monte began his career in the restaurant industry at TGI Fridays as the Senior Director of Marketing responsible for over 800 locations.
Monte holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tennessee. He also has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University where he concentrated in both marketing and finance.
