Tomas Salazar is a seasoned international Chief Executive with an ample turnaround track record and over 30 years of experience in the global energy industry. He has worked in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela, Spain, and the US in a variety of management functions, with a focus on restructuring distressed operations and companies. His positive attitude, kind manner, and ability to deftly execute in difficult moments have earned him great respect from teams and partners alike.
Tomas began his career at BP, where he spent 15 years in photovoltaic solar, chemicals, exploration, and production, followed by 16 years working to turn around private equity portfolio companies. In addition, Tomas has consulted on strategy for a variety of industries, including national oil companies and European produce distributors. Owing to his extensive familiarity with the Latin American and Middle Eastern Markets, as a strategist, he can speak to operational and strategic performance in all sectors and geographies.
An engineer by training, Tomas holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Metropolitan University of Caracas and an MBA from IESE Business School of Spain. He has served on the board of Iracambi Rainforest Research and Conservation, a non-profit focused on rainforest conservation in Brazil. A native of Venezuela, Tomas is trilingual in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. He holds U.S. and Venezuelan citizenship and is eligible to work in Brazil.
