Graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BS in Business Administration with a major in accounting and minor in economics. Began career in the financial area as a staff accountant with Springs Mills in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Advanced to Financial analyst and then to operational auditor performing reviews and performance improvement recommendations to company’s manufacturing operations. Moved onto Kayser-Roth Corporation in Greensboro, North Carolina as accounting Manager before being promoted to Controller for the company’s sock division.
Hired by Gold Toe Brands in Burlington, North Carolina to be the Chief Financial Officer where I served for approximately 18 Months till I moved over to Executive Vice President of Operations with responsibility for manufacturing, distribution, product development, purchasing, Information technology, sourcing and production planning. While as EVP of Operations, remade/restructured the operations of the company from a U.S. based manufactured company to an international sourcing company with quick response domestic production. Setup Asian sourcing operations and spearheaded acquisition of largest Mexican sock company and became President of said company.
When Gold Toe Brands was merged with Moretz Hosiery, I headed the merger and restructuring of the operational areas of the company including the manufacturing, distribution and I.T. areas of the company. Upon completing that work, I purchased my own small sock company in High Point, North Carolina which I ran for 10 years. Becoming the largest producer and seller of collegiate socks and hosiery in the U.S. Also, consulted with International Legwear Group with their Mexican operations for 12 months to turn that business around from an operational loss to profitability. Earned Certified Public Accountant. Served on the U.S. Cotton Board. Served on the Board for the National Hosiery Association
