Today, businesses are becoming more dependent on the online world for the purposes of advertising. Whether it is all about advertising a product or service or to just simply to find more detail on a specific product, most prefer the online communication avenue. If one looks at past advertising methods, advertising via “word of mouth” offered many businesses a huge success. However, in current times, the platform and methods of advertising have changed. We are living in an age where most people prefer to actively resist advertising received through the telemarketing avenue. Most of today’s advertising methods are based on the concept of push marketing.
Some believe push marketing methods work. However, it is advantageous to know how businesses are attaining clients before their competitors do and often it is not through push marketing.
- Does throwing money at issues in an attempt to gain resolution really work? Usually not.
- Is it imperative to add people in an attempt to gain resolution? Rarely.
- Is it a requirement to employ the services of “hip & cool” types advertising agencies to get the message out to others? Until and unless we are involved, surely not.
It is recommended to stop the use of push marketing methods. Instead, create an environment where customer feedback and publication of this feedback markets the business.
These days, there is hardly anyone who believes in what companies say. However, people do believe what their friends say. Most importantly people tend to show a great faith in the views and opinions offered by strangers instead of directly from the business itself. The best example of this is online business performance and product reviews. Before purchasing products or services, people now prefer to go to the leading review sites to see what others think of the product or the service. Some people believe that these reviews enable them to make the right decisions and can, as a result, influence a business’s sales and profitability. Further proof is the growing number of online platforms that are attaining high demand status for this same reason. One rarely sees an advertisement that promotes or provides an opinion concerning these online portals. The old method of “Word of Mouth” still works! However, the mechanism in which businesses gets their voices out to the market has surely changed.
