To whom it may concern,
We were introduced to Cogent Analytics through the Regional Vice President, Steve Garcia’s visit; he was insightful and seemed to understand my business and me. After meeting and talking with Steve, I decided to go through the discovery process and made an appointment with Dave Drylie, our Business Analyst. Dave told us a lot of information from just three days on-site, working with only some meetings with Cardinal’s key people, and our financials from last year, Dave was able to show us where we could improve. While none of it was a huge surprise, because we knew the conditions he mentioned had existed over time, we also knew we didn’t do anything about them ourselves, so I decided it was time and we needed assistance to kick it off.
I told Cogent our goals and they showed us proof that we could make it a reality. We signed the agreement and had someone on site within a week. Lisa Richards and Karl Horn were the Project Director team that was assigned to Cardinal. Lisa seemed to understand my way of communicating, and my wants and partnered with Karl, they were able to show us new ways of looking at our information, systems, and people to make us more profitable with less ongoing effort. Karl was able to give us data-driven information about our productivity that helped us understand the inefficiencies we had and how to improve them going forward.
Lisa tackled some challenging situations and attitudes that were stuck in “the way we’d always done it” and gave effective and objective ways to measure those things to improve our staff and drivers’ performance. She worked with my GM to ensure that he was not only operationally based but had a full understanding of our finances. We came up out of managing tasks and started to strategically set the direction that our Cardinal team could follow.
We started meetings up again (we’d fallen off meetings during COVID) and started measuring the time to ensure that what we were meeting about was clear, concise, and targeted to our goals as a company. Our executive team began working together to improve Cardinal, taking it from a great company to an even better one.
Lisa focused on each one of our managers, grew the team, coached on how to report, what to report, and how to measure the information over time, took action not just talk about what needed to be done, and set SMART goals for each department. They, in turn, have delegated tasks and responsibilities, allowing for accountability to grow naturally with Cardinal’s team dynamics. Cardinal is setting a path to be a greater company, and with ongoing help during LifeCycle, we will have the support we need to ease the way to achieving our goals, through the CMS, the Budget, and all the processes that our team worked to create. Lisa will provide bi-weekly calls over the next 12 weeks, focusing the Executive Team on the goals and achievements of the department heads that are part of their key performance indicators. Each KPI is designed to move forward with the initiatives that Cardinal has targeted for our future.
If you’re considering investing in your company’s future growth, I highly recommend partnering with Cogent Analytics. They have earned my trust through tangible results, and I am proud of the progress my Cardinal team has made under their guidance. With Cogent’s training and coaching, I am confident in Cardinal’s ability to successfully navigate our future growth strategies.
Sincerely,
Roy Alonso, President
