To whom it may concern,
I’m writing to share my experience working with Cogent Analytics. It took more than a few follow ups over the course of a year for me to decide to go though their Discovery process. We knew something could be done about the revenue drop we were experiencing but, in that moment, we were also at a loss in what else we could implement.
Merlin, with Cogent, spent just over 2 days going over our books and our processes in order to present what they knew we could address. KPIs are something we knew about, but we didn’t properly know how to apply them, or even really know what metrics best needed to be measured. As I am a “data guy”, looking at the business in this way really intrigued me and I wanted to know more. KPI’s are not all that Cogent was able to bring to light but, what they did bring to light was by simply asking us “why”.
The Discovery process was enough for us to bring them on and enter into what they refer to as “high intensity phase”, in which we were shown a lot of ways in which we can address a multitude of issues within our company. We worked with Reg, the project manager, on a range of issues from roles being properly established, revenue being generated, proper accounting/record keeping, and holding people accountable based off the KPIs being set in place. It is, of course, on us to decide what we can or want to do.
I used to carry the belief that I was fairly educated on the company that we started, only to now know, I’m an infant in what I should be educated on. It has and is an eye-opening experience, and an experience that is already garnering positive results. I’m looking forward to what they refer to as “Life Cycle”, in which they will continue to work with us over the following year to help guide and ensure that we are continuing on with the actions we have chosen to implement.
With great appreciation,
