We signed up with Cogent Analytics in order to take our Hardware / Lumber Company to the next level. We had several different issues to solve in order to do this and were not sure exactly how to do this. Some of these issues were where our margins needed to be, not to be confused with mark-up, inventory control, security, proper staffing, business organization and several other issues just to name a few.
The process started with an initial visit to discuss what we were looking to accomplish in this endeavor. We spent two days working with a gentleman named Merlin who was extremely helpful with helping us focus on the task we were about to begin. After this stage the next week David Tabony showed up on Monday and spent the first week learning our business and developing a game plan. The second week the work began and it was amazing how much he was accomplishing in such a short time.
After just a few weeks David had set our required margins, inventory controls, security requirements and staffing requirements along with giving us the game plan to continue improving. The employee attitudes have improved and our customers are beginning to adjust to the changes. We can see were our investment with Cogent will at least be 2 to 1 and we are looking hopefully 4 to 1 within 18 months.
