To whom it may concern:
Rainbow Painting Company is a family owned and operated union painting company founded in 1980. Our business started as a mom-and-pop shop that has grown to be a leader in the St. Louis new residential painting market with forty plus painters, a management team, and many long-term business relationships. We are a good company. We want to be great company. We had accounting issues, culture challenges, accountability challenges, and a lack of strong leadership. These were all known to Rainbow. We had made attempts to move our challenges and issues in a positive direction. We tried to make changes, but they did not stand the test of time.
I took a call from Dan Brenner with Cogent’s business development team that led to a virtual meeting that led to scheduling a business discovery process with one of Cogent’s business analysts. Dan described the Cogent process and described the Cogent Profit Platform. The chance to learn about our business from an analyst not working in our business was exciting and welcomed.
Arlon Albert, a senior analyst, spent a few days harvesting information from our accounting and financial records. He performed a culture survey of Rainbow’s employees. At the end of the discovery process, Arlon presented Rainbow with areas of internal business opportunities, or deficiencies and inefficiencies that were leaving our team unsatisfied and money on the table. There was work to be done on Rainbow’s business.
Rainbow engaged Cogent to develop and implement a plan to improve our business. John Farr, a project director, was assigned to our project. John and his team helped Rainbow develop accounting and financial tools to help measure and drive our profits. High quality leadership training was provided to all levels of management to help improve company culture and professional relationships among employees. Accountability and incentive programs were built and implemented. Standard operating procedures were written for all positions and business functions. Rainbow’s team worked with Cogent’s team lead by John Farr on nearly all aspects of our business to drive our culture and profits. By the time our onsite project was closing, Rainbow’s team was energized and working together to improve our business with a new mission: We work hard to make Rainbow the most respected painting company in St. Louis. Rainbow is thrilled with our relationship to Cogent and looks forward to the future of our partnership.
Sincerely,
CEO, Tim Niedringhaus
