I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for Manuel Trevino and the impact he has had on both Comet Supply and my life.

Comet Supply is a family-owned industrial lubricant manufacturer and distributor that has served customers for more than 50 years. While our company has a strong history and loyal customer base, I found myself facing one of the most difficult periods of my life and career. Over the last year, I lost my mother unexpectedly, spent months helping my father through a critical illness, and ultimately lost him as well. At the same time, I was working to lead the business, support our employees, care for my family, and navigate responsibilities that I had never anticipated carrying out alone. With little knowledge and experience, I felt like the legacy of my parents and Comet Supply was slipping away and I had no control.

When Manuel entered our organization, I expected business consulting. What I received was far more valuable.

From the beginning, Manuel demonstrated an exceptional ability to quickly understand our business, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide practical solutions that could be implemented immediately. He is helping establish priorities, improve accountability, create structure, and focus on the activities that truly drive results. Rather than allowing us to become overwhelmed by countless projects and ideas, he continually guides us toward what is most important and what will create the greatest impact.

One of Manuel’s strengths is his ability to simplify complexity. He helped me look at challenges differently, break them into manageable pieces, and develop a clear path forward. Through his guidance, I am gaining a better understanding of our financial performance, operational processes, organizational structure, and growth opportunities. More importantly, he is helping me become a stronger leader.

What sets Manuel apart is that his influence extends well beyond business metrics and organizational charts. During a time when I am carrying tremendous personal grief and uncertainty, Manuel consistently provides encouragement, perspective, and confidence. He helped me believe in my ability to lead Comet Supply into its next chapter. When circumstances feel overwhelming, he has reminded me to focus on what I can control, prioritize what matters most, and continue moving forward one step at a time.

His support has given me hope when I needed it most. He helped restore confidence in my decision-making, motivated me to pursue goals that felt out of reach, and challenged me to see opportunities instead of obstacles. Because of Manuel, I am not only a better business owner and leader, but a stronger and more confident person.

The Cogent team has created an unforgettable and lasting impression on our whole Comet team. Manuel has earned my trust, respect, and gratitude. He has become a valued advisor, mentor, and friend to both me and our organization.

The future of Comet Supply is brighter because of the work Manuel has done with us, and I am confident that the lessons, systems, and leadership principles he is helping us to establish will continue to benefit our company for many years to come.
